Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor who is best recognized for her role as detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue and for which she won the Emmy Award. Her roles include All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney was the only girl of her mother who was a homemaker and high-ranking executive of the United Auto Workers. Delaney was a child in the company of four brothers. As a child, Delaney fantasized of being a reporter for the court. Her modeling career began in highschool and eventually gained commercials when she moved from the south of England to New York. In her teens, her first role as an actress was in the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Since then Delaney has been featured in many film and television dramas. Her professional career has been better than her personal life. The talented actress was afflicted with addiction issues in the past and has been through two divorces. The year 2005 was the time she lost custody of her only child she was born with.
